Disabling Of VFO IR Switching

Yellow arrow at top of picture shows connection to a 12 Volt box at the top of the VFO section. This wire connects to one side of both the VFO switches that are replacing the IR switching.

The Yellow arrow in the middle of the picture shows the connection to the gate resistor of the VN0106N3. This wire goes to the top SPST switch at the front of the receiver. See Below.

The bottom Yellow arrow shows how the heat shrink tubing was slipped over the Phototransistor, folded over, and then heated with a cigarette lighter. This is not the only way the lens can be covered up, just make sure light cannot get to the lens.

This picture shows the connection to the IRFU220 gate resistor at the front of the VFO section. The top Yellow arrow shows how the heat shrink tubing was slipped over the Photodiode, bent over, and heated with a cigarette lighter.

The bottom yellow arrow shows the connection to the 1 Meg gate resistor going to the gate of the IRFU220. This wire connects to the bottom switch as shown below.

Picture shows connections of the 12 Volt wire to the left hand terminals. The Blue wire from the picture at the top of the page is shown connected to the top switch at the right hand terminal. Note Yellow arrow pointing to the Blue wire.

The white wire connects to the 1 Meg gate resistor of the IRFU220.
