The above screwdrivers are the type that are usually given away by hardware stores, with their advertisement on the plastic handle. The shaft measures 1/8" diameter.

To fix one for a tuning tool for the receiver, file down the tip, as shown in the picture above, so that the 1/8" diameter follows all the way through to the end of the tip. Notice that the tip has been filed on each side, this is done to fit the yellow trim capacitors in the VFO.

Since the screwdrivers are made of fairly soft metal, a regular 12" flat file makes this a quick and easy job. Their length (5" total, 2 1/2" for the shaft) make them perfect for reaching to Board 1 through Board 2.
